The Street

For six years, I lived in Jerusalem, a city that holds a deeply special place in my heart.
Among all its streets, Jaffa Street became my anchor—a vibrant artery full of life, music, and stories. It’s a place I miss a lot, a place where I found not just a home but also a connection to the people and the rhythms of the city.

THE STREET is a video art I filmed and edited, I captured the essence of Jaffa Street and the people who make it so unique. I documented the familiar faces I passed nearly every Street performers, City employees, the homeless, the different people with different backgrounds who pass daily through this street reflecting its spirit and diversity. The street itself feels like a character in their lives. It’s a thread weaving together diverse individuals—each with their own background, struggles, and dreams—yet all connected by this shared space. Jaffa Street is their stage.

This film isn’t just about documenting a street; it’s about preserving the spirit of a place that feels like a second heartbeat to me. It’s my way of holding onto Jerusalem, even from afar, and sharing the beauty, the grit, and the humanity of Jaffa Street with others.

The Street was my final semester project in Video Art course, in my senior year at The Department of Photographic Communications and was presented in the most famous platform for Ducomentary Photographers Local Testimony (עדות מקומית) 2022 World Press Photo Foundation
